Baxter is a spacious and sunny campground that sits along the White River Arm of Table Rock Lake. The highly productive fishing waters of the White River Arm will appeal to anglers, while the Baxter full-service marina offers everything a boater needs from fuel to fishing licenses. Keep reading
Recreation
Whether on water or land, Baxter Campground offers visitors countless recreational activities. Picnicking, swimming, scuba diving, boating, fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing are all popular pastimes at the park. Water sports including tubing, wakeboarding and water skiing are extremely popular on the deep, clear, beautiful waters of Table Rock Lake. The Baxter marina provides rentals from ski boats to life vests, meeting any of your recreation needs. While the lake boasts an abundance of crappie, catfish, and bluegill, Table Rock is most famous for bass, and is acclaimed as one of the best bass fishing lakes in this hemisphere. Table Rock Lakeshore Trail, about 2 miles long, runs from the Dewey Short Visitor Center to the Table Rock State Park Marina. During the spring hikers will see dogwood, serviceberry and redbud trees in bloom as well as many wildflower species. During the autumn months, visitors are treated to nature's colorful fall foliage. The trail also offers beautiful views of Table Rock Lake. Other hiking and mountain biking opportunities are available at the Mark Twain National Forest, parts of which are easily accessible from the campground. Click here for more information.
Facilities
Baxter Campground offers 54 reservable sites. Amenities like hot showers, drinking water, a dump station and electric hookups create a comfortable camping experience. A swim area, boat ramp, playground and nearby full-service marina make the campground perfect for family trips.
Natural Features
Table Rock Lake is a beautiful body of water surrounded by a forest of oak and hickory trees. Its waters wind down through the valleys and hollows of the Ozark Mountains, from Branson, Missouri to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. More than five million visitors per year take advantage of this recreational oasis. Originally built for flood control, the Table Rock Dam has created a lake that boasts 779 miles of shoreline for the public to enjoy.
Nearby Attractions
The Dewey Short Visitors Center is located at the south end of Table Rock Dam. It offers three educational films focused on the history of the dam, the story of Lewis and Clark and the history of eagles and their endangerment in the state of Missouri. The visitor center also contains exhibits on the natural history of the area. Baxter Campground is only 23 miles from Branson, Missouri, which offers grocery stores, gas and additional tourist attractions.
What the agency tells you
Staffed booth hours are between the hours of 8:00 a.m-10:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., seven days a week. Camphost and or Rangers will issue campground hangtags after valid check-in. Please check-out on departure. If Camphost is not present, please drop pink tag off at the drop box.
All checkout times are at 3:00 p.m. All RV's, vehicles, and supplies still on site after 3:00 p.m. may be subjected to impoundment our towed at the owners expense.
All discounted passes (Golden Age, Senior Lifetime, Senior Annual, Access) must be physically present upon arrival. Fraudulent use of a Golden Age or Golden Access Passport (Printouts, photos etc.) is prohibited and will not be discounted.

Failure to pay day use fees, and or properly display applicable receipt, permit or pass is prohibited. All daily guests must pay a day-use fee and have day-use receipt properly displayed. Day passes and USACE annual passes may be purchased at the kiosk next to the booth.
All personal equipment (boats, trailers, personal supplies etc. ) must be stored at reserved campsites. No equipment shall be stored in boat ramp/day-use parking for overnight storage.
Camping at one or more campsites at any one water resource project for a period longer than 14 days during any 30 consecutive day period is prohibited without the written permission of the District Commander.
One tent and one RV, or two tents are allowed per campsite
No dumping of household trash, gray water, rubbish, black water or any other waste material or waste liquid. All waste generated must be disposed of at the dump station or removed from the project lands.
Shower tents, changing tents, and latrines are prohibited.
Pets must be penned, caged, or on a leash under six feet in length at all times.
Please be advised that providing business services within a USACE campground is prohibited per Title 327.18(a) The engaging in or solicitation of business on project lands or waters without the express written permission of the District Commander is prohibited. This includes services such as RV or tent delivery & set-up, firewood sales and delivery.

Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
