Recreation
Facilities Bootleg is a tent and RV-friendly campground that offers single family campsites with picnic tables and campfire rings. The campground has four restroom buildings that house flush toilets. Drinking water and garbage service is provided. Firewood is available to purchase from the host.

Bootleg Campground is located 22 miles north of Bridgeport on Highway 395 in Mono County, California. The elevation of the campground is 6650. The campground contains single and double-family sites equipped with picnic tables, food storage lockers and campfire rings with grills. Flush toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Sites are $28 per day, extra vehicles $6 per day. No reservations needed, first come, first serve. Campground is operational late May to mid September, as weather and conditions allow.

Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
