This small campground with only four sites provides easy access to Thunder Mountain Trailhead. This trail is a very popular hiking, biking, horseback riding trail. Anyone can stay in this campground; there is no condition that you must have a horse, however priority use is given to equestrian users until 04:00 p.m.. This quaint little campground sits in ponderosa pine forests on the beautiful Paunsaugunt plateau with easy access to many sightseeing locations and trail systems. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., no generators during that time, open late spring to late fall.

Non-potable stock water may be available from late May until the water supply is exhausted, late summer, early fall. Water not for human consumption. When water is not available, campers may access potable water at the dump station from the nearby Red Canyon Campground.
Any accepted passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
