The place

Dog Lake Campground is located approximately 55 minutes west of Lakeview, Oregon. The campground is a serene destination for those seeking to fish and relax in a lakeside setting. It offers 17 campsites and 4 vault toilets. Each campsite has a picnic table and campfire ring. Dog Lake Boating and Picnic Sites are across from the campground. Non-motorized boats and boats with electric motors are allowed at Dog Lake. There is a large parking area with adequate trailer turnaround, and one vault toilet. Dog lake attracts a multitude of birds including pelicans, geese, ducks, and other waterfowl. Birdwatching and fishing are the main recreational pursuits at Dog Lake. Another bonus is its close proximity to Drews Reservoir and Drews Creek. Whether you are tent camping, in an RV, or boating, Dog Lake Campground has several locations to fit your style. Alert: There is no potable water or trash cans. Visitors need to pack plenty of water and leave no trace. Recreation Recreational activities include hunting, fishing, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking, and nature viewing. Facilities 4 vault toilets at different campground areas, boat dock area with vault toilet, and 2 pavilion-style shelters for camp trailers and RV's. Natural Features Dog Lake and surrounding Fremont-Winema National Forest, featuring old burn scars from the Barry Point Fire which burned through the area in 2012. Nearby Attractions Dog Mountain Lookout, Drews Reservoir, and Drews Creek and Campground are all nearby.

Camping$6/Night for single unit, $2/Night for extra vehicle. Payments can be made with cash or check (make checks out to USDA Forest Service) and deposited in the fee tube using provided envelopes, or scan the QR code to pay by phone. Day Use: No Fee.
