Evans Group Camp, along the northern shoreline of Lake Roosevelt, is the most northern campground on the lake that can be reserved. The site is long and narrow, an orientation that allows for a fantastic, clear view of the lake from every vantage point. There is one group campsite that can accommodate one group of up to 25 people at a time. Lake Roosevelt is a 130-mile lake on the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. Named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it is part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and managed by the National Park Service. Keep reading
Recreation
The boat launch provides year-round access to the lake. Boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing are activities that can easily take place from the campground. Campers might also enjoy relaxing and taking in the beautiful view or attending educational ranger programs.
Facilities
Evans Group Camp can be reserved March through November. Great for family reunions and other medium-sized gatherings, there are picnic tables, drinking water available seasonally, fire pits, water access and a playground within the facility.
Natural Features
Evans provides ample shade with thick forests of ponderosa pine, douglas fir and maple trees. The lake area is abundant with wildlife, including moose, elk and deer. Quite a few bald eagles have been spotted around Evans, and dozens of species of fish inhabit the lake, such as walleye, bass, rainbow trout, salmon and sturgeon. Fishing for sturgeon is now allowed during a short season. Much of the water in the originates from glaciers and snow in the cold, high Canadian Rockies, though temperatures are pleasant to swim in during summer. Contact Info This location is unstaffed. Charges & Cancellations
All changes and cancellations must go through recreation.gov Group Facility (including Cabins and Lookouts): Customers who cancel a group overnight facility reservation less than 14 days before the arrival date will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee.
What the agency tells you
Closed on Wednesdays for maintenance.
There are no electricity, water or sewer site hookups. Dump/Fill Station onetime fee of $10 for campers with a reservation or $5 with Senior/Access pass. This is intended for visitors recreating in established campgrounds within the boundaries of Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and not for residential use. Flush toilets are available and water faucets turned on May 1st to September 30, weather permitting. Lake level may affect water availability.

Pets are allowed and must be restrained at all times.
No off-road vehicles permitted.
No off-road parking; park in designated areas only.
Four vehicles maximum per group site.
No metal detectors or collecting artifacts allowed.
Bring confirmation with you. Transfer the confirmation information onto the green slips located at the Fee Board as you enter the campground. Hang filled out tag at your site.
No generator usuage during our Quiet Hours of 10 PM - 6 AM.
Fires are permitted in the fire rings year-round, EXCEPT when the fire danger rating reaches a critical level as indicated by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources for the area that includes Lake Roosevelt NRA.
Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
Weekly Boat Launch Permits must be purchased on line at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/656441199 . Please purchase prior to your trip. Annual Boat Launch Permits are available in person by vendor only.

Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
