Granite Creek Campgound is a large wooded campground nestled in the valley between high mountain peaks very near to the Gros Ventre Wilderness. The campground is located next to designated Wild and Scenic Granite Creek, offering excellent fishing opportunities right next to the campground. Nearby is the popular Granite Creek Hot Springs which is great fun for all ages for soaking in the water and the view after a hard day of recreating. Multiple trails are available very close to the campground and throughout the Granite Creek corridor for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. Keep reading

What the agency tells you
ATTENTION -- BE BEAR AWARE - Bears are active in all campgrounds. All scented items -- food, beverages, pet food, coolers, cook stoves and toiletries -- should stored in locked vehicles or in the provided bear-proof storage boxes. No public river access through the campground. All food, beverages, trash and scented items must be properly stored when not attended. Bear-proof trash receptacles are provided at the campground. Pets must be always leashed. Not complying can result in loss of campsite. One RV with tow vehicle per single site or two vehicles per site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a $10 per night fee and collected at the campground. Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (NOON) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation, or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation. Firewood bundles may be available for purchase from the campground host. Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only. Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
