Groups are drawn to Grapevine Campground's unique setting and expansive facilities. The site's location near Roosevelt Lake's shoreline and nestled in the Saguaro cactus-studded Sonoran Desert and facilities such as a boat ramp and event area provide a perfect setting for fishing tournaments, family reunions, and even weddings year-round. Recreation
In addition to camping, Grapevine provides opportunities for boating, fishing, jet skiing, water skiing, and exploring peaceful coves from non-motorized watercraft. Additional activities include a playground for children, sports field, and a shoreline trail for hikers and mountain bikers.
Facilities
Nine group sites accommodate a wide range of facilities. Each group site includes flush toilets, water hydrants, and shelters with group-sized picnic tables, grills, and fire rings. The group sites also include individual camp units each with a fire ring/grill, picnic table, and parking. Additional facilities include showers, boat ramp with platform to assist individuals getting in boats, and an event area. Group Sites: COOT group site has 14 separate camping units. GOOSE group site has 15 separate camping units. GREBE group site has 17 separate camping units. MALLARD group site has 18 separate camping units. TEAL group site has 15 separate camping units. PINTAIL group site has 18 separate camping units. EGRET group site has 14 separate camping units. HERON group site has 15 separate camping units. CORMORANT group site has 12 separate camping units.
Natural Features
At an elevation of 2,200 feet, each group site has stunning views of the blue water, the Sierra Ancha mountains, and sunsets against three mountainous wilderness areas.
Nearby Attractions
Multiple opportunities for enjoying spectacular scenery and learning about the area's pre-history, history, flora, fauna, or geology include visiting Tonto National Monument cliff dwellings (National Park Service), driving portions of the Apache Trail Historic Road (State Hwy 88) and Desert to Tall Pines Scenic Road (State Hwy 288) or visiting the Tonto Basin Visitor Center.

Visitors are requested to print extra copies of their confirmation to display in each vehicle that might be parked at Grapevine Boat Ramp.
Be prepared for the heat. During June, July, and August temperatures reach well over 100 degrees and many RV air conditioners cannot keep up.

No directional signs, ribbon flagging or other various methods will be approved for use on State Highway 188 or Forest Road 84 accessing Grapevine Group Site. No signs Erecting signs or advertising is prohibited. devices shall be erected on the area covered by this use agreement, without prior approval by the Forest Service as to location, design, size, color, and message.
The representative and his/her guest or members shall exercise diligence in protecting from damage the land and property of the United States, and may be cited for any violations of applicable laws.
The representative reservation holder will take reasonable measures to prevent and discourage vandalism or disorderly conduct, and when necessary, will call the appropriate law enforcement agency for assistance. For emergencies, call 911, or call the Gila County Sheriff's Office at 800-635-8017. For non-emergencies, call the Tonto Basin Ranger District at 602-225-5395.
Discharging firearms or any other implement capable of causing injury or damaging property is prohibited in or within 150 yards of this group site.
The assigned loops will be maintained to present a clean, neat, and orderly appearance. Trash will be disposed of in the provided trash receptacles, or as agreed to by representative and the Forest Service. If your group includes cigarette smokers, all cigarette butts will be properly disposed of in trash receptacles.
Off Highway Vehicles are allowed but may not be driven off roads.
Power receptacles on ramadas are for charging batteries or other minor uses. They are not to be used to supply power to recreational vehicles.
All campfires will be built in established fire rings or grills. If fire restrictions are in effect, these restrictions will be reserved by all members of the group.
Quiet time is from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Fireworks are always prohibited on National Forest Land.

Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
