The place

Indian Mounds Recreation Area, located on the 185,000-acre Toledo Bend Reservoir, is maintained and operated by the Sabine River Authority of Texas. The area offers camping, fishing and boating all year. The area offers excellent opportunities for hunting waterfowl on the reservoir and hunting deer and squirrel outside of the campground area. Visitors can hike to the mounds for which the area was named. For more information call 409-625-1940.

Recreation.gov default: most campsites can be booked six months prior to arrival date. Most campgrounds go on sale at 7am PT / 8am MT / 10am ET, but not always; check the facility Seasons and Fees tab. Some locations also offer shorter supplemental booking windows.

Fees

CAMPING -$4.00 per campsite per night. DAY-USE FEE - $2.00 per vehicle, per day.
