In the agency’s own words

Nestled in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest on the Entiat Ranger District, Lake Creek Campground offers visitors some of the most stunning scenery in the central Washington area with easy access to an abundance of recreational activities such as hiking, motorcycle riding, and mountain biking. This campground offers 18 sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping. Hookups are not available and the maximum trailer length is 28 feet. Nine sites are reservable only through recreation.gov with the other nine being first come, first served. There are two vault toilets, one dumpster, and two hand pumps with potable water at the campground. Keep reading

Recreation

Hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and motorcycle riding top the list of recreational activities in the area. Just up the road, Lake Creek Trailhead offers recreationalists the ability to access three different trails that are open to most activities. The Silver Falls National Recreation Trail is less than three miles up river and provides a great family hike to a spectacular waterfall. Backpackers and horseback riders can enjoy the trails of the Glacier Peak Wilderness from the Entiat River Trailhead located at the end of Entiat River Road.

Facilities

Lake Creek Campground offers 18 sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping. Hookups are not available and the maximum trailer length is 28 feet. Nine sites are reservable only through recreation.gov with the other nine being first come, first served. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. There are two vault toilets, one dumpster, and two hand pumps with potable water at the campground.

Natural Features

Many of the sites overlook the Entiat River as it cascades down the valley to meet the Columbia. The open forest provides plenty of sunshine and a diverse habitat that supports deer, bears, coyotes, bald eagles, and numerous other animals. The Entiat River is fertile ground for salmon and steelhead which still use this waterway for spawning grounds.

Nearby Attractions

There are multiple trailheads just up the road. The first one you encounter is the Lake Creek Trailhead which is a favorite among mountain bikers and motorcycle riders. Silver Falls National Scenic Trail is the next trailhead you come to and provides a family friendly one and a half mile loop hike to a spectacular waterfall. If you are heading back down river the Entiat National Fish Hatchery is at mile six on Entiat River Road and welcomes visitors in the summer. If your looking for some fun in town the tourist destinations of Chelan and Leavenworth are a relatively short drive away.

Who keeps the booking fee

The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it. Why this page can’t say why

recreation.gov lists every site at Lake Creek Campground - Entiat River closed this Friday and Saturday night. The U.S. Forest Service has published no closure notice we hold, so this page can’t say why, and it won’t fill the gap with a guess. A closed night isn’t a sold-out one: the reservations its record still carries were taken before the sites were closed.

Closure: U.S. Forest Service status record · Oct 16, 2026

There’s no notice to quote and no reason to argue with, so this page offers you the watch and the list below, and no letter.

The price is derived by CAMPANAC, not published per site: the per-night rate this campground publishes for each site’s own site type. 18 of the 18 sites listed carry one, and a site whose type has no published rate sits out of the price rather than being called free.

How we know

every fact on this page, and where it came from
Right now: recreation.gov lists every site here closed on Friday and Saturday night (read 17:04 UTC). U.S. Forest Service has published no closure notice we hold, so the reason isn’t on this page. A closed night isn’t a sold-out one, and the reservations the record still carries predate the closure. That reading is ours, off the agency’s own booking record.

Cell signal: the Forest Service’s own campground description, read as text by CAMPANAC. None of this is a measurement. It’s what the land manager published about the place, and phones, carriers and weather all disagree with each other; treat it as a warning, not a promise.
