Lightfoot Landing is a smaller campground compared to neighboring park areas, making it a more quiet and peaceful location for boating and fishing on Pomme de Terre Lake, known as the ''Gem of the Ozarks.'' Recreation The lake is well known for fishing, with one of the highest catch ratios in the country. Species include bass, catfish, walleye and crappie, but the lake is probably best known for its muskie, which is stocked each fall. Both canoeing and power boating are popular on the lake, with a good amount of water skiing and other water activities taking place. Keep reading
Facilities
Lightfoot Landing has 35 sites with electric and water hookups, including one that is accessible. Additional amenities include a shower house, boat ramp with courtesy dock, dump station, playground, horse shoe pits, and a picnic shelter.
Natural Features
The Pomme de Terre River and Lindley Creek are the major sources for Pomme de Terre Lake, which spans 7,790 sparkling surface acres, with 113 miles of shoreline.
Nearby Attractions
One of the best dirt tracks in the country and is located down 83 highway in Wheatland. Also nearby is the Pomme de Terre Multipurpose Trail, located in Bolivar Landing.
What the agency tells you
During the off-season, there is a limited camping season that only has electricity available. $10 per night, Dates: March 15 - April 15, October 1 - November 30.
All reservations must be made through the Recreation.gov website or app. Search for Recreation.gov on the Apple Store or Play Store to download the app for free. Reservations can also be made by calling the Recreation.gov reservation line at (877) 444-6777.
All campers must check in at the Park Attendant Booth during booth hours when arriving. Booth hours are posted on the booth and are subject to change.

America the Beautiful Passes must be verified when camping. A physical or digital pass must be presented with identification upon checking in. Failure to do so may result in the removal of your pass from a reservation.
There is no first-come-first-serve window. All reservations can be made from the current day up to six months in advance. Campers are still limited to camping 14 consecutive days at a campground.
Reservation tags will no longer be posted. With current day reservations available, it is the camper’s responsibility to check if a campsite has been reserved.
Cash and checks will no longer be accepted. Recreation.gov and their reservation line will take credit and debit cards.
Additional fees will be charged for additional camping units.

What you actually pay
Derived by CAMPANAC: the agency’s published rates for this season, $14–$26 a night, plus one $8 recreation.gov reservation fee for the booking. A weekend here means Friday and Saturday night, booked once. Optional charges (an extra vehicle, a second tent, a dump-station fee) are listed separately and aren’t in this total.
Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
