Recreation
Trail hiking, fishing, swimming, group camping, mountain biking, hunting, horseback riding, nature viewing, and recreational mining are favored activities. Day trips to higher elevation snow play in the winter is also enjoyed.
Facilities
Reyes Creek Campground has 24 generously spaced campsites, ideal for tents, pickup truck campers, small RVs or small van conversion campers. RVs over 22 ft. are not recommended. Please bring all the water you will need for your stay as there is no water available. Six vault toilets service the campground. The road through the campground is narrow in places so RVs should be aware of obstructions and difficult angles into the campsites.
Natural Features
This shaded streamside campground located at 3,500 feet elevation boasts an ample supply of riparian oak and cottonwood trees. The creek area is well shaded and runs year-round. Overhead you may catch a glimpse of red-tailed hawks soaring above the trees. If you are lucky, you may see a California condor!
Nearby Attractions
Located south of Ozena Valley, this campground provides access to the Sespe Wilderness via the Reyes Creek Trail linking to the Piedra Blanc National Recreation Trail. This site is the trailhead for Gene Marshall-Piedra Blanca National Recreation Area ideal for hiking or mountain biking.

Fireworks are not permitted.
You should plan to be completely self-sustainable for the duration of your trip. There is no potable water onsite.
There is no dump station.
The nearest stores and gas are east on Lockwood Valley Rd to Frazier Park.
Spotty cell service, if any, can be found up the hill from the campground.
Don't hike alone. Tell someone where you plan to go and then stick to your plans.
Don't take unnecessary chances - help for emergencies is miles away.
Make sure you have a first aid kit and other safety gear with you when hiking.
Bring your gnat/mosquito repellent in Spring/Summer/Fall

Campfires are normally permitted year around without a California Campfire Use Permit. Under some conditions, wood fires and barbecues may be prohibited in all areas of the national forest. Fires at Campground are only permitted in fire rings provided by the Forest Service. Please check local for local fire restrictions prior to your arrival.

Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it. The U.S. Forest Service has published no closure notice we hold, so this page can’t say why, and it won’t fill the gap with a guess. A closed night isn’t a sold-out one: the reservations its record still carries were taken before the sites were closed.

Holiday Group CampgroundLos Padres National Forest · 11 miFrom Los Angeles take take I-5 north to until Frazier Park Mountain Road. Drive 6.9 miles and turn left onto Lockwood Valley Road. Drive 23 miles north. Then turn left into the campground. It will be labeled either Forestry Road 8n11 or Camp Scheideck Road.
From the intersection of Highway 33 in Ojai. Continue north over the mountain 35 miles to Lockwood rd. Turn right on Lockwood and go 3 miles to the "Camp Sheideck/Reyes Creek CG" sign. Turn right and travel 1.5 miles to the entrance of the campground. Reyes Creek Campground is 3.7 miles in from Lockwood Valley Road. The road is paved the entire way to the campground. Please stay on paved road. Do not turn off onto any dirt roads or onto private property.
