The place
Strawberry Recreation Site is located approximately 5 miles south of Lead and Deadwood, South Dakota. Strawberry Recreation Site offers a tranquil respite right off of highway 385 with five camping sites and two picnic areas overlooking a gorgeous pond, nestled into the surrounding tree-blanketed landscape. This first-come first-served area features a small pond with a paved accessible walkway and fishing platforms, making it ideal for bird watching and quiet afternoons.
