The place

Yellow Pine Campground is the largest of three Wallowa-Whitman campgrounds along Highway 26, which is part of the Journey Through Time Scenic Byway. The campground offers 21 campsites for both tents and small trailers and has five accessible campsites. Popular activities include overnight camping for travelers, picnicking and exploring along the scenic byway. There is an accessible, barrier-free, trail to Wetmore Campground. Wildflowers, wildlife, birds and large old growth ponderosa ("yellow") pine can be seen during the hike. Keep reading

Recreation.gov default: most campsites can be booked six months prior to arrival date. Most campgrounds go on sale at 7am PT / 8am MT / 10am ET, but not always; check the facility Seasons and Fees tab. Some locations also offer shorter supplemental booking windows.

Fees

Overnight Use: Single Site$15/night. Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to Single Campsites ONLY. The discount applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fee or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party. https://store.usgs.gov/recreational-passes Please be prepared to pay with CASH or CHECK. Single unit campsites = $15.00/night. A self-service fee station is located at the campground.
