Mokins Bay Campground is located near the eastern shore of Hayden Lake in northwest Idaho. Its picturesque setting in the northwest portion of the Bitterroot Mountain range, known as the Coeur d'Alene mountains, creates solitude in a forested setting at this campground. Recreation
Fishing is popular in the surrounding lakes and streams, and cutthroat trout and large and small-mouth bass are the most common catches. Power boating and other water sports are also popular activities.
Facilities
Drinking water, grills, paved parking spurs and vault toilets are among the amenities at Mokins. A horseshoe pit is also onsite. Access to campground is on a gravel road.
Natural Features
The small campground is surrounded by a heavy canopy of pines. Wildflowers like trillium and buttercups thrive in the springtime, creating a stunning backdrop for campers. Hayden Lake boasts a 40-mile shoreline with a surface area of 3,800 acres. The lake was formed by the Missoula Floods that occurred nearly 15,000 years ago, at the end of the last ice age.
Nearby Attractions
The town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is 21 miles away, and offers several tourist attractions, as well as restaurants, gas and groceries.
What the agency tells you
Extra Vehicles: One vehicle is included in your single campsite fee. Each additional vehicle will be charged a per day fee that is collected on site (cash or check only) if space is available in your site only. Additional parking is not available.
Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers
Your reservation will be held until check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. If you haven't occupied your site at any time during this period, your reservation is null and void and will be given to first come first serve campers. Your reservation will be a no show and no refund will be given.

The 14 day stay limit is strictly enforced. Camping for a period longer than 14 days during any 30-consecutive day period is prohibited. If you have booked back-to-back reservations, you will be asked to cancel all days after the first 14.
There are no electric hookups.

Derived by CAMPANAC: the agency’s published rate for this season, $26 a night, plus one $8 recreation.gov reservation fee for the booking. A weekend here means Friday and Saturday night, booked once. Optional charges (an extra vehicle, a second tent, a dump-station fee) are listed separately and aren’t in this total.
Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it.
