Hike-in only, 3N17 is closed from Mill Creek to Alder Saddle. Open seasonally, campgound will close for the season when the first winter storm is projected. Overview of Site Located near the western boundary of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, the campground is accessed by driving the 3N17 FS road from Mill Creek Summit side. Both road 3N17, and the access road to Mt. Pacifico Campground, are open to street legal and off-highway vehicles, while road 3N90 (aka "Roundtop Road") is only open to street-legal vehicles. Campsites are first-come-first-served. Interagency Pass or Adventure Pass required for vehicles parked at this campground. The Pacific Crest Trail passes 1/2 mile north downslope of the campground. Not RV accessible. 7100' elevation. 10 tent-only sites.
Booking
Recreation.gov default: most campsites can be booked six months prior to arrival date. Most campgrounds go on sale at 7am PT / 8am MT / 10am ET, but not always; check the facility Seasons and Fees tab. Some locations also offer shorter supplemental booking windows.
