Outlet Park, situated below the Pomme de Terre dam, provides a picturesque setting for fishing, canoeing, hiking and wildlife viewing on the Pomme de Terre River. Above the dam lies Pomme de Terre Lake, nicknamed ''the Gem of the Ozarks'' for its deep, clear waters, plentiful activities and scenic views. Keep reading
Recreation
Outlet Park is excellent for sports. It marks the trailhead for the 3-mile Healthy Active Community Running River Trail and is also a hot spot for canoeing and kayaking. Fishing is also a popular, with plenty of crappie and bass in the nearby waters.
Facilities
Outlet Park has 19 water and electric hookups campsites. Amenities include hot showers, a boat ramp, group camping, and a multipurpose playing court, multiple playgrounds, softball/baseball field, horse shoe pits, and a 3 mile walking trail.
Natural Features
The lake and dam are located in the rugged, tree-topped hills of the west-central Missouri Ozarks. The lake stems from the nearby Pomme de Terre River, the only river in the state that flows northbound.
Nearby Attractions
Located a few miles away in the town of Wheatland is one of the country's best dirt tracks. There are also multiple trails, a golf course and Anglers Resort is the place to rent your canoes.
What the agency tells you
During the off-season, there is a limited camping season that only has electricity, water and a dump station available. $10 per night, Dates: March 15 - April 15, October 1 - November 30.
All reservations must be made through the Recreation.gov website or app. Search for Recreation.gov on the Apple Store or Play Store to download the app for free. Reservations can also be made by calling the Recreation.gov reservation line at (877) 444-6777.
All campers must check in at the Park Attendant Booth during booth hours when arriving. Booth hours are posted on the booth and are subject to change.

America the Beautiful Passes must be verified when camping. A physical or digital pass must be presented with identification upon checking in. Failure to do so may result in the removal of your pass from a reservation.
There is no first-come-first-serve window. All reservations can be made from the current day up to six months in advance. Campers are still limited to camping 14 consecutive days at a campground.
Reservation tags will no longer be posted. With current day reservations available, it is the camper’s responsibility to check if a campsite has been reserved.
Cash and checks will no longer be accepted. Recreation.gov and their reservation line will take credit and debit cards.
Additional fees will be charged for additional camping units.
Water levels on the river can rise or fall very quickly.
Lifejackets only work if you wear them!

What you actually pay
Derived by CAMPANAC: the agency’s published rates for this season, $16–$26 a night, plus one $8 recreation.gov reservation fee for the booking. A weekend here means Friday and Saturday night, booked once. Optional charges (an extra vehicle, a second tent, a dump-station fee) are listed separately and aren’t in this total.
Who keeps the booking fee
The agency’s own policy text says the reservation fee and the cancellation processing fee are “retained by the reservation service contractor”, and that a campground concessionaire will decline to refund them because “they did not receive these fees”. Recreation.gov is run under contract by Booz Allen Hamilton. What share of your booking fee the contractor keeps isn’t published in any federal dataset we can read, so we print no number for it. Go south from Hermitage on Highway 254/64 for approximately 4 miles to Carson Corner. Turn west on 254 toward Pomme de Terre Dam and continue across the dam. At the far end of the dam, turn north on the paved road and follow it to the park below the dam.
